Say within a town there’s 2 AC repair companies. One AC repair company is completely over booked while the other could use some more jobs. The over booked company has you wait a week for repairs where you didn’t call the other company because you always go to the same company.
With communism there’s only one AC repair company. It would be like having the staff of both repair companies without the longer wait time of the more popular brand.
